Long Exposure Shooting with Canon 700D

So last night, I experimented with my Canon 700D and long exposures.

This was shot using a pixel stick to create the light. I was using a 10-18mm f4.5 lens and had the exposure on bulb. This meant that the shutter was open from the point I pressed the trigger until I let go of the trigger. This is why the background is almost pure black because there is no light reflecting off of it.

From here, although the light does look cool, I needed something else to try and picture.

Introducing me on my modeling debut. ahaha.

The pixel stick was to the left and I had someone hold down the trigger for me. The concept was "Something Red".

Doing long exposure shots does take some trial and error, below is a handful of some of the decent shots that didn't have me completely out of focus.

The last one was a serious contender, however, it was not to be. The next photo was the chosen one for my Instagram. This was shot with a 50mm f1.8 Lens. I had to stand so still otherwise I would be even more blurry or out of focus due to the smaller F stop.

Something red was the idea, but it ended up being called "After Dark."

What do you think?

Feel free to head over to my Instragram for pictures everyday.

Overall, long exposure shots are trial and error...don't give up.
